What is PANCHAKARMA?

Panchakarma — in its classical sense, is a set of Ayurvedic procedures aimed at cleansing the body.
The name translates from Sanskrit as “five actions” performed on the human body.
It is important to note that the procedures are individually prescribed by the Ayurvedic doctor for each patient, and not all of them are always applied at the same time. Alternative programs may also be recommended, as the treatment complexes depend on the patient’s constitution and condition.
Saturates the body with healing oils that help move excess toxins into the gastrointestinal tract.
01
Preparatory stage (purvakarma).
Five procedures that help remove toxins through the body's natural elimination channels:

  1. Vamana — therapeutic vomiting.
  2. Virechana — cleansing of the intestines with the help of laxatives.
  3. Vasti — use of herbal oil enemas.
  4. Nasya — cleansing of the nose, throat, sinuses, and head by instilling a special herbal solution into the nose.
  5. Rakta Moksha — bloodletting. In modern practice, this is understood as hirudotherapy (leech therapy).

The final stage (pashatkarma).
PROCEDURES
Choose the procedure you like and enjoy
  • Classical Abhyanga
A procedure of oiling the entire body, except for the head and neck, with medicinal oils. Thanks to the healing blends of oils and herbs, as well as a special application technique, Abhyanga has a profound effect on human health. The oils penetrate deep into the tissues, relaxing the muscles, calming the mind, and dissolving toxins accumulated in the body.
  • Ayurvedic Healing Massage
A deep full-body treatment using healing oils. During the session, special attention is given to muscle relaxation. The medicinal oils have both local and reflexive effects. The first effect is seen in the improvement of the skin — it becomes smooth and toned; the second effect influences the entire body. A course of 5 or more massage sessions helps improve emotional well-being, give the skin a healthy and beautiful appearance, fill the body with vital energy, relax the muscles, and relieve stress and tension.
  • Shirodhara - stress relief
A procedure of pouring warm medicinal oil onto the forehead in special points, including the area of the Ajna chakra (“third eye”). This amazing and world-renowned treatment can immerse you in a trance-like state, bringing peace and serenity. Shirodhara relaxes the facial muscles and smooths forehead wrinkles. The medicinal oil Kshirabala, traditionally used in Ayurveda for this procedure, contains bioavailable magnesium and dozens of valuable herbs.
Shirodhara sessions help improve sleep quality and strengthen memory. The procedure is recommended for psychosomatic disorders, stress, depression, headaches, as well as for hernias and protrusions (as part of therapy).
The treatment also includes an Indian head, neck, and shoulder massage.
  • Ayurvedic facial massage
It is a special massage technique that helps relax tense muscles, restore a healthy skin tone, and reduce puffiness. The procedure stimulates blood circulation, boosts metabolism, and activates regeneration processes. It can be used both as a standalone treatment and as part of a comprehensive therapy.
  • Foot reflexology
This is an impact on certain points located on the foot, the stimulation of which improves the functioning of the organs or parts of the body associated with them, strengthens health and improves overall well-being.
  • Hand reflexology
Applying pressure to specific points on the hands has a targeted effect on the corresponding part of the body, such as the eyes, ears, or internal organs. Reflexology on certain points can help with issues like headaches, digestive system disorders, sinus pain, tension in certain parts of the spine—especially in the neck and shoulders—and as part of a comprehensive treatment for eye-related conditions.
  • Indian head massage
The procedure stimulates the three upper chakras — Sahasrara, Ajna, and Vishuddha.
The healing properties of the movements affect two aspects of life: the psychological — activation of energy channels leads to relaxation, and the physical — stimulation of blood circulation in the hair roots and scalp.
The massage technique also involves working with the muscles of the neck and shoulders.
  • Swedana
Herbal steam treatment in an Ayurvedic steam barrel. An effective way to help the body eliminate accumulated toxins and relax the muscles. In Ayurveda, it is used as a therapeutic treatment and is also one of the essential stages of the Panchakarma cleansing procedures.
  • Netrabasti - eye health
A procedure for cleansing and restoring vision using a special medicinal oil. Small wells made of fresh dough are placed around the eyes, and a herbal preparation is poured in according to a specific technique. The oil gradually penetrates the eyeball and nourishes the eye muscles, relieving tension and spasms, and making them more elastic. This procedure not only improves vision but also softens and smooths wrinkles around the eyes.
Panchakarma treatment in India / Indian remedies online:
Netra Basti is recommended for cataracts, glaucoma, conjunctivitis, blepharoptosis, nervous disorders, insufficient tear secretion (dryness) or tear duct imbalance (tearing in wind/cold), decreased visual acuity, eye pain, dark circles around the eyes, puffiness under the eyes, rough and dry skin, and wrinkles around the eyes.
  • Nasyam - clearing the nasal sinuses
The procedure opens and cleanses the channels of the head, improving oxygenation and the flow of prana, which has a highly beneficial effect on brain function. Nasyam is recommended for diseases of the head and neck. It is successfully used for dryness of the nasal passages, sinus congestion, colds, chronic rhinitis, and sinusitis (including allergic).
It provides relief from chronic vascular headaches, migraines, epilepsy, and also has a positive effect on mental retardation and degenerative brain diseases. Nasyam helps with eye and ear problems, including tear deficiency and excessive tearing, chronic scleral irritation, conjunctivitis, glaucoma, hearing loss, tinnitus, and loss of smell.
  • Kativasti - treatment of the spinal system
During the Kativasti procedure, warm medicated oil and herbal pastes are held on the spine area using a closed barrier of specially prepared dough. Relieves back and lower back pain, recommended for spinal diseases and sexual disorders.
  • Pinda Swedana - Joint and Spine Health
A procedure of intensive warming and rubbing the body with herbal bags soaked in hot medicinal oil. An effective rejuvenating technique, in which special attention is paid to joints and marmas. The procedure slows down the aging process of the body, tones muscles and skin, eliminates pain and stiffness, muscle tension, cramps and spasms, nourishes body tissues.
  • Raktamoksha (hirudotherapy) - cleansing the lymphatic system
Raktamoksha — bloodletting, one of the five actions of Panchakarma, the body purification system. In Ayurveda, it is most often performed using leeches. The procedure is indicated for imbalance of Pitta dosha in the body and the accumulation of Ama (toxins) in the blood, which can lead to hypertension, angina, migraines, varicose veins, liver and skin diseases, hemorrhoids, gynecological and urological disorders, allergies, and more.
Leeches are also highly effective in treating sciatica, rheumatism, arthritis, arthrosis, osteochondrosis, and gastritis (as part of therapy).
  • Udvartana - getting rid of excess weight and swelling
A procedure of intensive body rubbing with powders made from medicinal herbs and minerals. Udvartana is recommended for preventing and correcting disorders associated with excess Kapha dosha, eliminating cellulite, reducing excess body weight and volume (fat layers decrease), and improving body firmness and tone (slowing the aging process and toning muscles). It also helps prevent skin sagging during rapid weight loss and restores skin tone after childbirth.
Under the influence of massage movements combined with the healing properties of the herbs, blood circulation is enhanced, and toxins are removed from the body. The skin undergoes rejuvenation, cleansing, and nourishment, becoming soft, smooth, radiant, firm, and velvety.
  • Royal Pizhichil
This is one of the rarest and most expensive Ayurvedic treatments. During the session, about ten liters of warm oil mixed with medicinal herbs are poured onto the patient's body. At the same time, specialists perform a light massage of the entire body. Everything happens in a certain rhythm for one hour, and several people perform the procedure.
